Lakeland, FL / August 1, 2025 / Aviation News –Sheltair Aviation is announcing the successful transition of its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) location at Lakeland Linder International Airport (KLAL) to Aero Centers, marking the close of a meaningful chapter in Sheltair’s history.

Sheltair extends its gratitude to the City of Lakeland and Lakeland Linder International Airport Authority for their unwavering partnership and support over the years. Since first establishing operations at KLAL in October 2014, Sheltair has provided the airport with exceptional FBO operations and superior service to the general aviation community.

“This transition represents more than just a change in Sheltair’s business operations—it reflects years of collaboration, shared vision, and commitment to aviation excellence,” said Lisa Holland, President of Sheltair. “We are sincerely thankful to the entire Lakeland airport management team and all our Lakeland team members for making Sheltair a trusted name at KLAL.”

In alignment with Sheltair’s core values of supporting its employees and local communities, Sheltair has worked closely with Aero Centers to ensure a seamless FBO operation transition for all its tenants and customers, as well as its team members. Many Sheltair employees at KLAL have been welcomed into new roles with Aero Centers, continuing their legacy of outstanding safety and customer care.  “We’re proud of the people who made Sheltair Lakeland a success, and we’re confident they’ll continue to thrive as part of the Aero Centers team,” Holland added.

Sheltair has been honored to have enjoyed a well-respected partnership with the airport community, SUN ‘n FUN, and the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE).  The family-owned aviation company would also like to recognize and express its appreciation for our longstanding partnerships with the Amazon and NOAA operations teams, with whom it has been fortunate to support.

The Holland family is happy to be leaving a lasting impact at the airport through its philanthropic participation in the building and maintenance of the Jerry Holland Destination: Aviation Playground. The hope is that young visitors to ACE and the adjoining playground will continue to be inspired to become future aviators for years to come.

Moving forward, Sheltair is continuing its focus on executing its strategic growth initiatives across the current network, including its newest FBO complex located at the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (KSRQ), opening early fall of this year. Sheltair remains a strong advocate for airports, community partnerships, and the continued advancement of future aviation development in the communities it serves.
