Sheltair team receives AIN’s top-flight award; their BJC base wins as the country’s best new FBO.
2021 started off strong for our hardworking team at Sheltair BJC who received AIN’s Top Flight award for Best New FBO Facility, just three months after their grand opening at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport.
In October 2020, Aviation International News (AIN) announced that it was launching the Top Flight Awards; it stated in the Best New FBO category criteria that the leading aviation publication looked for “something new and unique.” A few weeks later, it released the list of nominees that included some of the most reputable FBOs at the most desired destinations in the United States. This list included our latest FBO addition, Sheltair at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC), which just hosted its grand opening in September.

Our Aviation Family has received the prestigious accolade with joy and pride. The development of Sheltair BJC kept many of us working hard until late at night, planning every factor and every detail for who matters most to us, our customer.
So, what can you expect to find at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport today?
The truth is, pictures don’t do justice to what we created in Broomfield, Colorado. Adorned by metamorphic views that are the towering backdrop of our FBO, a massive 162-foot-wide airside canopy welcomes aircraft and passengers by shielding them from all weather conditions. The automatic doors invite guests inside, where beautiful beetle kill pine ceilings, and exposed raw steel give a modern flair to the lobby’s natural elements. In-floor radiant heat and a full-height stone fireplace envelop customers in warmth while enjoying the landscape through the 17-foot-high glass wall panels.
