Sarasota, FL / November 1, 2025 / Aviation News – Sheltair Aviation is proud to announce the official opening of its newest Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport (KSRQ), marking a major milestone in the company’s ongoing expansion across Florida and the southeastern United States.

Now open and fully operational, Sheltair Sarasota redefines the FBO experience with a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility designed to serve both global travelers and the local aviation community with efficiency, elegance, and the family-owned hospitality that has defined Sheltair for more than six decades.

Situated on 24 acres in the north quadrant of KSRQ, the new complex centers around a 10,705-square-foot terminal featuring a striking airside canopy and a seamless arrival experience for aircraft of all sizes and has over $40 million in investment. Inside, guests are welcomed into a bright and spacious lobby complemented by a dedicated VIP charter lounge—perfect for exclusive and discreet travel when privacy matters most. Additional amenities include:

  • Private passenger and crew lounges
  • Fully equipped conference rooms
  • Crew rest and waiting areas
  • Professional Customer Service Representatives providing attentive, personalized care

“Sheltair Sarasota was designed to deliver comfort and sophistication in equal measure,” said Lisa Holland, President of Sheltair Aviation. “It’s a facility that feels both world-class and personal—exactly what travelers and crews deserve.”

Construction is also underway on a new Federal Inspection Facility (FIS) dedicated to general aviation, set to open in Spring 2026, allowing for smooth and efficient international arrivals.

Supporting its full-service operations, Sheltair Sarasota features two modern hangars totaling more than 46,000 square feet of aircraft storage and over 9,000 square feet of office space. Hangar space is available for lease now, offering operators a secure, strategically located base of operations in one of Florida’s fastest-growing aviation markets.

Future development at the site includes additional large hangars and a planned 60,000-square-foot MRO facility, underscoring Sheltair’s long-term investment in the Sarasota aviation community.

With comprehensive fueling, ground handling, concierge, and transportation services, Sheltair Sarasota provides a gateway for business travelers, charter operations, and local aviators alike. The facility not only enhances connectivity for the region but also supports economic growth and partnership opportunities for Sarasota’s expanding aviation ecosystem.

As a family-owned company since 1963, Sheltair remains deeply committed to serving the communities in which it operates. “Sarasota isn’t just another addition to our network—it’s a partnership we’re proud to build,” added Holland. “We look forward to welcoming every guest through our doors.”
